Pilar Buendia Nacarino was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1998. She graduated in Chemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2020. In the same year, he also did an internship at the Mass Spectrometry Unit (Complutense University of Madrid), where she was trained in mass spectrometry and metabolomics techniques. In 2021, she carried out a Master´s Degree in Chemical Science and Technology at the same university under the supervision of Jose L. Luque-Garcia, working on the evaluation of the toxicity associated to quantum dots. In 2021, she joined the Bioanalytical Chemistry Group to carry out his PhD under the supervision of Jose L. Luque-Garcia and Roberto Alvarez-Fernandez. In 2022, she was granted with a predoctoral fellowship from the Ministry of Education and Culture (Spanish Governement) to continue with her PhD. Her current research focuses on the development of silver and selenium-based nanosystems with potential antitumoral and bactericidal properties.
