Andres Machuca
Andrés Machuca Marcos was born in Navalmoral de la Mata (Cáceres), Spain, in 1996. He graduated in Chemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2018. That same year, he completed an internship at the Confocal Microscopy Unit of the Spanish National Cancer Center (CNIO), where he received training in fluorescence confocal microscopy techniques. In April 2025, he obtained his PhD under the supervision of Prof. José L. Luque-García and Dr. Estefanía García-Calvo, earning both the international doctorate distinction and a summa cum laude grade for his dissertation. His doctoral thesis was entitled "Rhodium Nanoparticles as Sensitizing Agents in Novel Photoinduced Therapies." He is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Bioanalytical Chemistry Lab of the Complutense University of Madrid.
